TOONOPHILIA = SEXUAL ATTRACTION TOWARDS CARTOON CHARACTERS (ALSO CALLED A CARTOON FETISH, OR A FETISH FOR CARTOONS)

As a "toonphile" myself, I have always had an interest in how other people with the same fetish "has it". Over the years I have received a lot of emails from visitors on my site who have felt relieved over seeing that there are actually other people with the same fetish too, and I have read about people telling openly about their fetish in forums, blogs, and other websites. Now, since "Toonophilia", or "Cartoon Fetish", is a fetish that is not always very described and lacks much information, I wanted to add a little article about the subject based on how the fetish works for me, and how I have experienced it works for others.

HOW IT WORKS FOR ME

Now, I can start taking myself as an example. I'm a toonophile, which means I have a sexual attraction towards cartoon characters. Therefore, I often enjoy drawing myself with certain cartoon characters, and you can view both drawings and comics based on my fetish ^^

Now, the way the fetish works for me is not the only way this fetish works for people. In my case, the fetish is solely a sexual one, and the sexual attraction is not directed to the characters themselves, but to the "roleplaying" opportunities that appears from it. I very often like the setting of two enemies getting together, and this may often show in how the comics etc. are made. Also, since my fetish is not a sexual attraction to characters but rather roleplay, I switch very often between characters/series.

Here is also one example, where the roleplay is even more clear. With inspiration from "Tom & Jerry", I have here given my boyfriend the role as Tom, and myself the role as Jerry.

As for looks on the characters, I have found no coherence on which characters I choose to base my fantasies on, which gives the conclusion that my fetish has its basis on setting rather than character. This is common for the ones that's got this fetish in the same way as myself, and all in all it is all about roleplaying based in a comic, animated movie, or series, where you inhabit one of the "roles" from there.

HOW IT WORKS FOR OTHERS

How my fetish works, is only one way of this fetish. For many, their toonophilia goes directly towards a cartoon character they find sexually attractive, charming, etc. etc. On top of many men's toonophile list you'll find "Jessica Rabbit", "Jasmine", "Amy Rose"...just to mention a few.

Now, you don't necessarily have to be a toonophile in order to find a cartoon character sexually attractive. Not many hot-blooded hetero men would turn down Jessica Rabbit, cartoon or not. But many toonophiles of this kind don't care much about rolepays or anything of that sort, they just have the total focus on the character itself. That means a toonophile of this kind, would not (like in my case) want to give themself a role from the show, like themselves being Roger Rabbit if fantasizing about Jessica Rabbit. The roleplay is either of little or mostly no importance to them.

Very often, the toonophiles of this kind also tend to have their focus on the more "realistic" type of cartoons, like Disney Princesses, anime babes like the "Sailormoon" girls, etc. However, some also like more un-human cartoons like Amy Rose, Minerva Mink, etc.

But aside from just a sexual attraction, some toonophiles have a way more serious variant of their fetish. For some, it's not just about sex, but simply about pure love. Some toonophiles literally fall in love with the cartoon character, and fantasize about a serious relationship with it. A toonophile of this kind might have just as much of a sexual attraction towards the character as any other, it's just become more serious as there's feelings involved. That does not mean this kind of toonophile have lost contact with reality - in fact they know as well as any other that it's all about a fictional character that can never become real. Toonophiles of this kind easily live a "normal" life as any other, despite them being in love with a cartoon (but then again, how many people in this world haven't been in love with a movie star or pop star, while living a normal life with their partner?). However, some toonophiles of this kind can also take their feelings so serious they can't go into a relationship with someone, as they feel it like cheating.

IN SHORT...

There are many ways this fetish works. Maybe some of you who reads this have this fetish too, but it works in completely different ways than described here? If so, I wouldn't mind an email so I could update the article :)
